Dear Sister,
Today was a very special day. Brooke drove all the way from St. George just to see you for the day. She has to work tomorrow and could only stay till 9pm, but she wanted to see you so bad and couldn't wait another day! She loves you so much!
She could not believe how much you have grown. She thinks you are beautiful and the cutest baby girl in the whole wide world! We agree 100%!
Brooke brought with her a very special gift. She made for you a beautiful quilt that you will have for the rest of your life. It is amazing.
Quilts are a gift of love, Sis. The material is picked out with love and thought. Each piece is sewn together with great care. It is a labor of love that will last forever and will provide not only beauty, but warmth when it's cold.
But I also think quilts are very symbolic. Sister, we are all separate pieces in this life, carefully brought together by our Heavenly Father. He puts us together in a beautiful way and with His love we become stronger and better with one another. We provide warmth and love to each other that we could not have on our own. He is the "thread" that holds all of us together. He makes us beautiful.
May this precious gift always remind you of the love Brooke has for you, the blessing that it is to have each other, AND who makes it all possible...
Yes, it is a very special gift indeed.
I love you so much,
Mom

Tucked in my Arm
Dear Little Sister,
You are still so tiny. You fit like a snug little bug in the corner of my left arm. You are slightly propped up against my chest and I hold on to your left leg- voila- the perfect chair for my perfect girl.
During the day we have lots to do... up and down the stairs with brother, doing dishes, vacuuming the floor... and most of the time you stay perfectly content tucked there in my arm. My right hand is free to do all that a mommy needs to do.
Sometimes I look down and am surprised to see that you are still wide awake- watching the world around you, not wanting to miss a thing. Other times you have slipped into a restful slumber and are fast asleep.
When you are asleep and brother is being noisy I put you down in your room to give you a more peaceful nap. But guess what? In a matter of minutes you are awake- you love the noise of our life. It is a comfort to you.
You are able to sleep all night long in your own bed, so I am not worried.
As long as you are comfortable there, you are welcome to stay tucked in my arm.
Love you Sweet Girl,
Mom

The Stretch...
Dear Little Sister,
You have perfected the art of the ultimate stretch.
I love to watch you stretch. You arch your little back and raise your arms high in the sky. Your legs stay bent close to your body.
Every morning when I go in to get you to start our day, I lift you up out of your bed and you give me one of your perfect stretches. It makes me want to stretch too!
Love you,
Mom

Linty Lou Lou
Dear Sweet Ellie,
You have a new nick name... Linty Lou Lou.
You have a cutest little hands and fingers, you are such a dainty little girl.
Most of the time your fingers are kept close together or even in a fist. You are hiding a secret, your secret lint stash. :) Even bath time does not remove your lint without some effort. I have to open up your hand and stretch your fingers apart to pick out the pieces. Every time I am amazed at what you are hiding. You make me smile!
I love you little Lou Lou...

Music to our ears
Dear Little Sister,
Today you started cooing. It was the sweetest thing ever. Absolute music to our ears!
You were laying on a blanket in the family room and I had just changed your diaper. I was talking to you and all of a sudden you responded with a little "Ooooo". It was so cute! I copied your sound and you just smiled and smiled, and then you did it again, "Ooooo". It was as if we were having a conversation and I loved it.
Daddy came home from work and I told him all about your new talent. He started talking to you and sure enough you started talking to your daddy. He was so proud of you!
You are growing up little one.
Love,
Mom

2 Months Old!!
Little Sister,
Today you are TWO months old! My goodness, two whole months! We went to the doctor and here are your current stats:
Today you are TWO months old! My goodness, two whole months! We went to the doctor and here are your current stats:
Weight: 9 1/2 pounds
Height: 22 inches
Wow! You are growing so much and are so healthy! You constantly sleep 8 hours every night and during the day eat 3 ounces every 3 hours.
You are now wearing a size 1 diaper. They are probably a bit big on you- but I was buying a big box of diapers and is seemed silly to get a big box of newborn when you were almost 2 months old. :)
Your 0-3 month clothing are still big on you, but I just can't resist and put you in some of them because they are so cute.
You are such a joy. You have only been on this earth for 2 months, but I can honestly say we cannot remember life without you. You are the perfect addition to our family.
We love you little one, so so much!
Love,
Mom
